Heat advisory issued from July 6 to July 7

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued a heat alert for the San Gabriel Valley from July 6 through July 7. During this heat alert, extra precautions should be taken for those who participate in outdoor activities, with extra care given to older adults, infants, children and pets. Prolonged exposure to heat could lead to heat exhaustion or dehydration, so please ensure that you remain hydrated at all times.

If you are in San Gabriel and you do not have access to air conditioning, please visit the City’s official cooling center located at the Asian Youth Center at 100 West Clary Avenue. In addition, residents are also encouraged to visit the San Gabriel Library located at 500 South Del Mar Avenue as an additional resource for heat relief.

Residents should also be aware of the increased risk of fire. Critical fire weather conditions are expected through late Thursday through Saturday. Report any fire activity immediately by calling 911.
