I’m happy to announce that new paving is underway on portions of Broadway, California Street and Pine Street, courtesy of funds provided by the 2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Street Improvement Project.
This project is funded by grants provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for designated low and moderate income areas of the City in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission. The project began construction in March 2018 and provides street repaving, resurfacing, and access ramp replacement on Broadway (just west and east of San Gabriel Boulevard.), on California and Pine Streets (south of Agostino Road and north of Broadway), and on Live Oak Avenue (between California Street and Pine Street).
This week, all of the ramps and the majority of the paving work were completed by Hardy & Harper, Inc., the contractor for the project. The $600,000 project complements the street repaving in the area done on the 2016 CDBG Street Project as well as the Haul Route Restoration provided by the ACE San Gabriel Trench Railroad Undergrounding Project and the City of San Gabriel.
We’ve provided some photos of some of the new pavement near the San Gabriel Boulevard and Broadway intersection below:
