Korean fried chicken lovers rejoice: Bonchon Chicken has come to San Gabriel.
As its name suggests, Bonchon offers several Korean dishes with a focus on fried chicken. Restaurant-goers can select fried chicken with three choices of sauce, including spicy, soy garlic or half spicy and half soy garlic. Once you select your flavor, the sauce is slathered on your choice of wings, strips or drumsticks, producing a crunchy, yet savory taste.
If you’re in the mood for another dish, Bonchon also offers sliders, pork buns, Korean tacos and popcorn shrimp along with several main dishes, soups and sides. We had the opportunity to try shrimp shumai drizzled with honey dijon dressing alongside the house fried rice, and both complimented Bonchon’s chicken dishes nicely.
Spicy and very spicy dishes are clearly marked on the menu if you’re not a fan of hot dishes, and Bonchon offers vegetarian and pescatarian options as well.
While not yet officially open, Bonchon has been undergoing daily technical rehearsals for the last several days. You can find them at 710 West Las Tunas Drive. Be sure to also give them a call at 626.545.2380.
