Mark your calendars: the San Gabriel Police Department will be holding its second Chinese community outreach event on February 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Asian Youth Center located at 100 Clary Ave.
Held in both English, Mandarin and Cantonese, this meeting will give participants an opportunity to ask questions and interact with members of the department. This meeting is also a great way for the SGPD to receive feedback about its programs and policing directly from the community. While the last meeting focused on general police services, this meeting will focus on traffic violations and traffic laws, the role of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and mental illness – specifically the role of the School/Community Engagement Team (or SCET). The meeting will then conclude with a question and answer session.
The last event had a great turnout, so the department is holding the next meeting at the much larger Asian Youth Center. Officer Huynh Nhat and Reserve Officer Jack Yao will be hosting this meeting alongside other members of the police department.
We hope to see you there!
